KL Food: Din Tai Fung 鼎泰丰

Famous for its Shanghai style bite size dumplings, beef noodles and many others. This shop is not new to me as I got to know it probably 10 years ago when I worked on Acer project in Taipei. I frequently visit this restaurant weekly whenever I was in Taipei. Tonight, we ordered

(1) Prawn fried rice 虾炒饭

(2) Beef Tendon Noodles 红烧牛肉拉面 comes in a rather tasty but oily broth and chucky beef and tendon. Despite of the presence of the oil, the broth is still amazingly clear and herby.

(3) Fried green sprout 清炒豆苗, nothing to shout about this dish but we just missed green vegetables so this becomes a natural choice

(4) Tofu – lightly fried tofu top with sea weed, nothing special but the tofu is really soft and silky

(5) 12 bite-size shanghai dumplings 小笼包 the famous xiao long bao, the meat filling was delicious, the skin is really thin and yet able to sustain the juice of the meat. Dip into the shredded ginger vinegar and bit a small hole so that the juice burst into your mouth. Delicious….

(6) Not to mention the appetizer that comes for free

The rest of the dishes are alright and live up to the expectation but just on the oily side..

Din Tai Fung 鼎泰丰is located at The Gardens in Mid Valley.
