'Almost' Japan

Last Saturday (9th May 2009) early afternoon we were ‘almost like’ in Japan again. At the Japanese garden (Clingendael Park) in Den Haag; we were lost in time and place, we were enjoying the ‘hanami花见’ or viewing of flowers in a nicely cultivated landscape Japanese garden. There are different types of flowers blooming, contrasting and complementing the greens, the maple.

There is a viewing platform in the center of the garden over looking a small pond, red Japanese bridges and of course with lovely flowers that touch up everything forming a tranquil and serene view.

It is a pity that the Dutch don't observe the etiquette of hanami, people sitting on the viewing platform and chatting loudly, kids were running around and that’s when I am back to the reality that I am NOT in Japan. How I wish I was able to experience the state of mind when we were at Shisendo (詩仙堂) Kyoto last year.

Try to go on weekdays or early in the morning or late in the afternoon just before the closing, you will discover the secret ‘hanami 花见’ that we have experienced in Japan.
Here are some of my photo shots which I hope are able to convey the stillness, tranquility, harmony, peace, and above all the greatness of the ONE above who gives us seasons and color the world we live in with serenity and this garden is certainly a temporal escape of the hectics of the mandate of our daily.
