Ika no Sauté

Johannes said he ran out of idea on what to cook now for Japanese cuisine that we are gearing to maintain... We found this cookbook at the American Book Store in Den Haag last week. Now I got to try new Japanese dishes... Johannes made 'ika no sauté' yesterday for dinner, basically means 'squids saute in the marinated sauce'.
The squids are marinated in advance and then shimmered under low heat till almost dry and this is how it looks like when removed from the pan...

Then they are cut into ring, and sprinkle with ample of shicimi powder (mixed of 7 ingredients)

The taste is really great, it feels more like a snack that you wash down with beer than for main meal. But nonetheless, it goes well as a dish with Japanese plain rice as well.

Enjoy!
