Yakitori

Yesterday we went to Meidi-ya after work. Medi-ya is a Japanese story nearby to my office, so we went there to pick up some stuffs. Later in the evening, the chef in charge decided to cook yakitori for dinner. To most of us who familiar with satay, yakitori is just a Japanese version of chicken satay but with better meat and serve without peanut sauce. This has been a few consecutive nights that we had Japanese flare on our dinning table.

Here is the making of Yakitori, I missed some parts of it thus the early preparation stage is not captured.

(1) Grilling the yakitori in the oven

(2) Brushing the yakitori with the special sauce

(3) Pouring the seven spices to the Yakitori

(4) Dinner on the table: cabbage, yakitori, miso soup with tofu and rice

(5) Yakitori (close-up) ready to serve

(6) The satisfied chef and his well deserved yakitori

Now is my verdict : YUMMY and I actually ate 2 bowls of rice because of the yakitori. It taste so much better than the one we bought in Kyoto. The seven spices literally spiced up the flavor of yakitori. I am impressed, it a real excellence result for the first try. Keep up the good work!!
